Fall is just around the corner, and with it comes wet leaves, pine needles, moss, and other debris piling up on rooftops. For ROII participants, roof clean-up is a necessary task this time of year—but it can also be one of the most hazardous.

Slips and falls remain one of the leading causes of injuries in construction. On metal roofs, the combination of rain and seasonal debris can quickly create unsafe conditions, even for experienced workers.



At ROII, we’re always on the lookout for ways to help keep our participants safe—and reduce the kinds of injuries we see all too often. One area where we get a lot of claims? Strains and sprains from repetitive tasks like shoveling, raking, and lifting. These can lead to painful injuries in the back, wrists, and arms—and time away from work.
